March arrives, and with it, the season of Lent is upon us. It is a time of preparation for what is the most sacred and monumental celebration of our Christian faith, that is the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lent is the time of year when we observe our forty days journey toward Easter. The word Lent comes from the root word “lengthen”, and as the days are getting longer, there is rebirth in spring and we are renewing our faith. We practice prayers and acts of charity with our students. We may also honour the season by giving something up and/or making a special effort to do good works. Continue to use our website calendar to stay up to date on all school events, and I wish all the students and staff a peaceful and enjoyable March Break.
