October News

The school year is well underway, as we are now into October, which is always a very busy month at St. Angela Merici. Among other things, we celebrate our first mass of the year by coming together as a community to give thanks for all that God provides for Thanksgiving Eucharist. The school’s first athletic event of the year takes place with our cross country team tournament at Bruce’s Mill; the school-wide photo day is at the beginning of the month, and October wraps up with one of the favourite days of the year for the children, Halloween, of course.

EQAO scores have been made public, and can be found enclosed in the October newsletter, and we will be  using our October P.A. Day to revisit our school management plan, using EQAO scores as one of our data sources. This year’s Catholic School Council has been formed, and subcommittees have already started their work on a variety of initiatives aimed at bringing the community together and raising funds to support student achievement. Our annual school fundraiser also kicks off in October, more information to follow.
