As the season turns to Fall, and the calendar turns to October, we jump into a very busy month at school. Our Thanksgiving celebration was lovely, as Fr. Joe reminded us just how lucky we are to have what we have, and the importance of demonstrating and expressing our gratitude to God, as well as to our family and friends. The major school fundraiser for the year, St. Angela Merici’s Spook-a-Thon, has also kicked off, and we want to thank all the families for their support, in advance. These monies raised will be the funds through which we make major school purchases, such as technology, and other resources. Several classrooms are taking excursions, and towards the end of the month, Coby the Magician visits SAM to share messages of respect and anti-bullying through the captivating world of magic. The school will be closed for the students on October 22nd, but the staff will be in the building for ongoing professional development. And for the community, St. Angela Merici will serve as a voting station. Be sure to stay up to date on all school events by visiting the school website at: www.sam.ycdsb.ca
